Delivery guys in Roodepoort take a break from deliveries on a quiet day
Food delivery can be a rollercoaster of ups and downs. There are times when it feels like a non-stop rush, with orders coming in from every direction and barely enough time to catch a breath.
But then there are those quiet days when the orders are few and far between, and delivery drivers find themselves searching for ways to pass the time and fend off boredom.
One such day was captured in a video (see video below) that took place in June 2022 in Roodepoort, Johannesburg. In the video, you can see a group of delivery drivers from Uber and Mr D, engaging in a spontaneous game of soccer.
It's a light-hearted moment that showcases the camaraderie among the drivers, who find creative ways to entertain themselves during the lulls in their workday.
The video features some familiar faces, including Paul, V, Tatenda, Pardon, Kelas, and others. Even though not everyone's name is mentioned, there's a sense of community among the Roodepoort drivers, as they likely recognise each other from their shared experiences on the job.

This playful moment got me thinking - why not create our own little online magazine for Roodepoort drivers, where we can share updates and news related to our deliveries? It could be a fun and informative way to stay connected and support each other.
Let's keep the spirit of community alive among delivery drivers!
